I'm a big fan of the original 3:10 to Yuma (1957) and am normally against remaking classics, but am excited about this remake. The talent involved in this film makes the movie extremely promising. It's directed by James Mangold who is getting a reputation of a good director lately and is starring Russell Crowe and Christian Bale who I think fit in the Western genre perfectly. I'm excited, are you?

I think I've been let down enough recently by remakes to reserve judgement but as you already said there is a steller cast and crew behind it. Will keep my eye on Variety's news pages to see if any more news comes of it.

This film is getting remade.

The remake is suppose to come out this year starring Christian Bale and Russell Crowe.

How do you guys feel about this? Frankly I think it's an excellent idea. If the movie's done right it could pave the way for some new westerns. I'm not saying it will completely revive the genre, but it could result in new ones which could.

Besides, the original movie, although an excellent western, is not well known and could earn some popularity because of the 2007 version.

I dont really like remakes except for the fact that re-release the original in a new special edition.

Here's a trailer for the up-coming remake:

Does it look promising? Or another nail in the western's coffin?

Well, it's got Russell Crowe, so there is hope.  O0

I think that's more hype than reality! I've liked him in most of his films since L.A. Confidential.

Oh, I cannot wait for this! I'm a huge fan of both Crowe and Bale. Who wants to make a bet this ending is altered from the original. I think theirs going to be a big gun battle in this version. Just a guess. This looks very promising!

This looks very promising. This is a definite sign that Western is coming back. I'm not against remakes on principle, but I hope we are getting some new stories, too. I haven't seen the original but I'm going to, and I'm sure that this remake makes more people interested in the original. The new Jesse James film sounds great too. Though, I hear terrible things about the studio taking over the editing.
