I'm going, proabably the first week of August, though.  For July 26 preview one must be a Turquoise member or above ($160).  For the July 29 opening, all members can attend (who knows how crowded it might be for films made 40 years ago?).  After that it is open to the public.  There will be film showings in the area that week at a few locations as well, check the schedule.  My former girlfriend's sister is involved with one of the museum eateries, she's trying to find out if there's any special privileges.

Concorde, thank you for the valuable info. This looks like a great event. Any Leone fan cannot miss it. I have already bought tickets. I cannot wait until I see Alessandroni's performance and the exhibit!

I hate to throw cold water onto everybody's expectations, but I got the recent Alessandroni album and it isn't very interesting. He doesn't do all that much whistling, and of course, he doesn't have Edda along on vocals. Artists usually focus on their most recent work, and since he would have to pay to perform material written by Morricone, I wouldn't expect him to do all that much from the past. I hope I'm wrong, though....

Interesting warning there, Dave. Thanks for the scary heads-up.

It's worth noting that Alessandroni is playing at two parties for the Leone museum exhibit and at two Leone movie screenings, so presumably his California performances will be focussed on his recordings for the Leone films.

What is his new (non-Leone) album like? I mean, aside from not being very interesting.....What style of music is he doing these days?
