thought I'd make a topic where you can post your favorite documentaries. these can be harder to track down than regular movies and as such there's probably loads of great ones we have yet to see.
I'll start then.

Hearts and Minds
a superb docu on the vietnam war

The Century of the Self
not sure how to sum this up with a short sentence. let's just say you will never view politicians, products, advertisements and our modern way of living the same way again. really powerful stuff.

The Power of Nightmares: The Rise of the Politics of Fear
about the near simultaneous rise of extremist islam in the east and neo-cons in the west. and a whole lot more.

American Movie
about a trailer park who loser trying to realise his dream of film making.

When We Were Kings
when ali met foreman in the jungle

The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert S. McNamara
about a u.s. secretary of defense and the decisions he made during the 2nd world war and the cold war. it's better than it sounds.
