  Does anyone here happen to know the lyrics to "The Story Of A Soldier" (the CD version, not the one in the movie)?  I do know about 80% of the words, but some of it is lost due to the singers' accents.  Thanks in advance.

  Actually, on the whole, I found that the actual song inconsistent with the lyrics posted there.  For example, towards the end of the first verse, the words listed as "All hope seems gone" - when it clearly sounds to me like "The ruse is gone" (in any event, it sounds nothing like the listed words).

  In the final verse, it's even worse.  Again, it might just be the singers' accents (I'm assuming they're off the Cantori Moderni?  ) , but the flag being "Scorched and in ribbons" clearly comes across to me as "Scorched INTO ribbons".  And the last line: "Ask if we dare, our comrades out there who sleep"; the word "who" is clearly pronounced as "To".

  I'm sorry if this annoying; I just love to nitpick.

actually, the correct title is "Ballad of A Soldier"
as with other tracks, the Italian translation on the soundtrack was literal
not idiomatic.*
