Well, I initially posted under the guise of Half Soldier (as I do on SWWB).  But because I didn't want to tread on (the lack of) toes of the Half Soldier already on here, I changed it to Marco Leone.

Marco Leone is the jokey name I gave myself, as part of the Leone Brothers (with my pal Tony Leone), when we filmed some spaghetti spoofs in Almeria.

Hi,

Well, I love Leone - and I'm a geek. I'm a geek who loves Leone.
I'm such a fan of Leone that it crosses over from fan, to geek.
There's really no point in trying to maintain some cool about it.

I am Leonegeek.

I saw the cover of the single with the music of FOD (which was a big hit in Italy in 1964) at a friend's home, probably before I saw the movie. I was (and partly still am) befuddled by this non-"title" (well, in italian titoli, apart from being the plural of "title", means "film credits"),  and couldn't understand why they couldn't find a better "titolo" to the tune. I think Morricone, like all the rest, was surprised as any by the success of the movie and hadn't cared about it.

it may not be the reason I chose my username but I remember many years ago, I was at a friend's party and there was this girl who was drunk and took a shine to me; only problem was, she was a pig! when she asked me what my name was, I didn't want to tell my real name so I replied "Bill Carson" and that was that....!   8)

Took the name from the Louis L'Amour series involving the Sackett family.

Don't you like music with your supper?

« #26 : July 26, 2005, 04:11:08 AM »

This name is inspired by that great Austrian(i think) SW actor William Berger who starred in the role of Banjo in Sabata.Apart from acting and dressing really cool(yes, including the bells on his trousers!),i like the duplicity of the character - you are never really sure what his motives are and whether he is as he says"just passing through".
Also as a musician(i like playing anything with strings) i made a homemade banjo instrument out of a hand moulded fimo clay(sort of plasticky) body with an old tambourine skin sewed onto it and a length of wood inserted to act  as a neck and head. Finally i glued matchsticks as frets, hand carved 4 tuning pegs and tied on fishing line as the strings.Apart from being a bit on the quiet side(i 've also attached  a cheap electric pick-up!) it sounds pretty good with that distinctive twang.I play it with a plectrum. And my party piece? - yes you guessed it-BANJO'S THEME!!!

The protagonist of The Great Silence is named Silenzio (in the italian print), and I just love that name. Mine is fairly obvious. REALLY obvious.
