I actually noticed that when i was watching the film. Of course, as you said, it didn't bother me at all, but I did notice it.

Just got done with Ikiru, and will probably start a thread about it.

Look forward to it :). Don't forget to see "Red Beard".

So enjoy it. I liked it a lot.

There are two kinds of films in this world:those which stay, even when their genre is forgotten, and those which don't.

It's very good, but not all parts have equal interest. I really hate the "cute" little kid in the final episode. Kurosawa often fell into kawai, unlike Ozu who always portrayed Japanese children (at least, Japanese male children) faithfully.

You know some Japanese words, don't you? Or are you Japanese also by any chance? That kid in "Red Beard" is not just a cute good boy. He steals too.

I'm not Japanese, but I lived in Japan for 16 years. I picked up a couple of words, but mostly I just learned about Japanese films.

Sorry, Dave, I missed this posting of yours. Did you learn about contemporary films like films of Fukasaku?

My user name is pretty self-explanatory. I'm two times divorced(a status I plan to keep) and like the pasta cinema. I was going to use the moniker >:(  JonO >:( but found out some other a%#hole used to post under that name. This will be the last time it is mentioned, HOPEFULLY :-X

The glance that makes holes in the silver screen

First of, I know it's skeleton, not sceleton.

I have the same username on IMDb; I just thought it would be simple if I used the same name. Originally I came up with this name when I saw a Leone fan called moviewerewolf and thought her name was cool. So I just changed werewolf to sceleton (yeah, I know I'm a big copycat  ;D). I was going through some kind of horror movie phase at that time.

I can't remember USERNAME's. Altogether I have to use nine, so I went for my name. Except for the occasional hangover morning, I always seem to remember that one ...
