I'm sayin' Colonel Mortimer - Van Cleef is a very good good guy/anti-hero - he's great as Angel Eyes, but I just like him better in FAFDM.

But I like his humanity, the fragility he brings to his character in FFDM...

Well Lee Van Cleef in For A Few Dollars More was probably the first example of Leone's casting a character against type. Van Cleef was always cast as a bad guy so it was refreshing to see this other side of him.

HARMONICA!!! Where have you been? You used to be on the old board 24-7. I hope to hear from you more. Welcome back!
By the way, Lee Van Cleef's role, his masterpiece, his legacy has to be GBU. Can you tell I have an opinion on this matter.
He did an increadible job in both films and it shows he had a great deal of depth.
By the way, do any of you remember when he had a TV show and he was a ninja? I loved that show and then boom, it was off the air. I was so upset. I can't remember the name of the show, does anyone remember?

I actually viewed the first episode of the TV show, but can't remember if it was called "The Master" or what. But I do remember Van Cleef's character reaching into a birdcage and grabbing a bird in his right hand, but the stunt man's hand had full middle finger !!!

Yeah, that's one of my favorite songs too. I love the oboe and especially when Morricone gets a hold of it. Especially "Goodbye Mexico" from DYS.
My favorite Morricone song, however, would have to be "The Death of A Soldier" from the GBU soundtrack, though it has some pretty stiff competition.

DOAS & GC both have that warmth morricone could coax from the string section. nelson riddle, another mule is kickin' in your stall.
my all time favorite is "extacy of gold". or" insecmento" when tuco is hunting down blondie after leaving him in the desert.

Well, Van Cleef was better as the Colonel because first of all he had more screen time and second of all his character was better developed.
If Angel Eyes would have had more screen time perhaps he might have been better.
