It's that time of year - the second week of July!  During the dog days of my boring summer vacation, it's time for my Third Annual Sergio Leone Week, where all the Sergio Leone films owned by me will be screened daily at 1:00 P.M.!  Here's the line-up for this year:

A Fistful of Dollars - July 11th (DVD)
For A Few Dollars More - July 12nd (DVD)
The Good, The Bad And The Ugly - July 13th (DVD)
Once Upon A Time In The West - July 14th (SE DVD)
A Fistful of Dymaite (aka Duck You Sucker!) - July 15th (VHS)  :-[

Once Upon A Time In America - Whenever the local video store has it on DVD.  :P

Gee, Groggy, why *pretend* to watch this film when a beautiful widescreen transfer on DVD is available? Please, no excuses, no alibis.

There's a good excuse.  How's "my birthday isn't for four months", or "I only have $6.01 in my personal account"?  FOD is definitely on my birthday list, I can tell you that right now, though it isn't my number one priority (that would be the "Major Dundee" Extended Cut).

Somehow I just can't imagine Robert Ryan using words like these......

Your icon sure does. And if you're not trying to live up to your icon, why use it?

Are you trying to live up with Charles Bronson? :P

When I become a famous actor (who's also left-wing) who got an Academy award nomination and was one of the greatest movie stars of all time, I'll be like Bob.  He's one of my favorite actors, that's why he's my avatar.  I hope you're just pulling my leg, man. . .  ::)

Well, my crappy VHS copy goes in the VCR today. . . I guess I'll have to make do.  :P

And Dave, I'd rather be a director than an actor, though I can't say I'd rule it out.  A lot of people at school think I have some talent, so I don't know. . .

Filmmaker with a fiery passion for films

« #13 : July 15, 2005, 01:18:16 PM »

Hey Groggy, keep with it. I've been wanting to become a director all my life, I've been working in the film industry for years now, and this year I've finally become one! I'm also undertaking camera training and in under a months time I will hopefully be a fully trained cameraman! The reason I'm undertaking this is because I wan't to DP all my early movies and understand the camera itself. I'm so looking forward to it!
(Also, on the film season. I've just brought back 62 DVD's from my break in NY, 30 Film Noir, 32 Westerns and so every night I'm having a movie night!)

Films: You cant just love them, you've gotta adore them!

Congratulations Leone! I don't think I would have the paitience to be a director, I can't even spell patience! So, I'm taking the family business.

Groggy, I'd like to come but unfortunatly Starbuck is a fictional place :P. I'd have my own if my dad didn't make we "turn of the dad burn TV and get a book open". but last night I snuck in GBU when he was at a meeting :P

I'd be glad to lend you 10 bucks too. Savin up for a portable DVD player so I can Spaghetti Western on the move! 8)

Anyone got any suggestions on what player to get???
