I'm at the point in my Leone-watching life where I can recognize pretty much any Leone bit actor you could name - and certainly the quintessential Leone bit actor, Benito Stefanelli.

Now, I watched this movie today and I couldn't find him. I did find Nazarro Natale (sic) - he was the guy who blew himself up with the short-fused dynamite - but I couldn't find Stefanelli.  Could anyone help out?  And please don't just say, "Oh, he was the one guy in Juan's gang".  Please tell me a SCENE he was in, so I can recognize him.

Can you post an image of Stefanelli from another movie, so I'll know what he looks like?

Then maybe I can help you find him.

I just taped the uncut letterboxed version of DUCK YOU SUCKER from The Encore Westerns Channel and will be happy to search him out.

I may be wrong, as my DVD has left the building (Elvis took it), but going by Johny_Exhale's post, he looks like the driver of the giant stage coach at the start of the film.

He ends up being dragged to his death by his own team of horses.

 Huh

I'm not so sure about that. I just re-ran the opening scenes of the film and noticed that the driver who takes the fall (and is dragged away by the horses) has white hair and a white moustache. Of course, that could be makeup, but he looks much too old to be Stefanelli...of course, since Stefanelli was a stuntman, it is likely that he performed this dangerous fall, doubling for the actor.

I need to keep on looking.   Embarrassed

On the end credits...Stefanelli is credited under "Stunts"...Are you sure he did anything other than stunts?

In Frayling's "Once Upon A Time In Italy" book, Stefanelli can be seen with the rest of Juan's gang in their group portrait (in the DYS chapter).  I still don't recall seeing him in the actual movie, however.

There's one guy in Juan's gang who I think might be Stefanelli, but he looks too skinny. He's easiest to spot on the train scenes with Viega. If I'm not mistaken he's right behind Viega or in front of him, I forget Huh

I'm going to watch it today so I'll get back to you.

i know exactly who you are talking about. but no it is not stefanelli. the guy that sits behind viega on the train is the same actor who plays one of the murderers in "cut throats nine"(for those who have seen it). remember in "cut throats" the guy who hallucinates the burned down cabin being re-built? that is the same actor who sits in back of viega on the train. he does have a striking resemblance to stefanelli though.

I think I found him, He's one of the revolutionaries in Villega's cell, you see him in the back room of the restaurant across fron the Mesa Verde Bankm and then he is the first of the second group of condemed that are shown to Ruiz and Villega at the firing squad in the rain, He looks like he's put on a bit of weight and has grey hair.

Any of you guys verify this?

I am not sure CJ. Could it possibly be the actor who spoke with Juan and Villega
in the train, discussing Poncho Villa? Just a stab in the dark Undecided
