I would like to know who is your favourite actor. Who's the best actor in the history of cinema in your opinion.

You must name a single actor, you can't say: "I like X very much but I also like Y".

No. Just one actor, that's all.

To me, the best actor in history is Marlon Brando.

De Niro gave a very fine performance recently in 'City by the Sea' I think.

My favorite actor is Clint Eastwood. He doesn't often get enough credit for his acting, I think. His acting really shows through in movies like The Bridges of Madison County, In the Line of Fire, Unforgiven, Josey Wales, Tightrope, and The Beguiled.

If we're looking at best actors, I'd probably say Dustin Hoffman. Hoffman can play ANYTHING. I remember reading once where he said that he never wanted to be typecasted, and he's about the only actor I can think of who's been successful without being typecast. Looking at movies like The Graduate (one of my favorites), Rain Man, Tootsie, Kramer vs. Kramer, and Marathon Man, and you see how so different they are.

As for Clint,I agree that he is a very good actor but I would love him to stretch himself a bit-now he is older and not as 'big' as he used to be.I think he would make a great villain,I mean a real villain as opposed to a Leone-type anti-hero.There are underlying dark elements in many of his roles-[Man With No Name,Dirty Harry,his character in Tightrope,for example],I would like to see them all come to the fore!
