Capt. Kirby York- (John Wayne- "Fort Apache")....the leader...experienced  Indian fighter..the group  tactician...expert in defensive & offensive tactics vs. an organized foe

Jake Sharp--(Woody Strode--"The Professionals").......specialist with rifle, rope & longbow .. most dependable scout & tracker in the territory

Vin--(Steve McQueen.."Magnificent Seven")-fearless...athletic...excellent horseman...skilled gunfighter

Blade- (Maurizio Merli..." Mannaja")
bounty hunter ...deadly, uncanny skill with an Indian throwing axe....good with a pistol too...tough as nails

Bob Valdez-(Burt Lancaster..."Valdez is Coming") .... ..former Army scout..expert (amazing) marksman..guerilla fighter...impeccable sense of honor..relentless

Lucas McCain- (Chuck Connors-"The Rifleman")-can fire a round with his specially modified Winchester in three-tenths of a second

Kuroda Jubie -(Toshirô Mifune .... "Red Sun")...great Samurai warrior.....can be used in situations that call for stealth & silently  dispatching an enemy...

John McIntire - the only Anthony Mann movie I know him from was "The Tin Star", where he was the old doctor.

He played the corrupt Sheriff..." Gannon"......in "The Far Country".....w/ an absolute hoot of a performance.

Ever the facetious one

I just realised Groggy's original post specified they were supposed to be from Westerns. I was wondering why my list had a significantly higher awesomeness quota than everyone elses.... I'll have to do a rethink.

It's class.

Going through old messages and thought I'd revive this one

Rico Fardan(Lee Marvin, The Professionals)  You need a good leader with experience

Capt. Ben Tyreen(Richard Harris, Major Dundee)  Good second-in-command, and Tyreen is just cool.

Britt(James Coburn, The Magnificent Seven) I had a heck of time choosing which Coburn role to pick

Harmonica(Charles Bronson, OUATITW) Cool character who is great with a gun

Indio Black(Yul Brynner, Adios Sabata) Bring some much-needed fashion to the seven

Lyle and Tector Gorch(Warren Oates and Ben Johnson, The Wild Bunc)  I just want to see these two get into more trouble and raise some hell.

This is a great  thread Groggy.  Sure would be tough to pick just 7.

I'm assuming all westerns right?  I’ll go with:

Joe/Clint Eastwood FFD The Jordan of Gunfighters

Harmonica/Charles Bronson OUATW Calculating

John T. Chance/John Wayne Rio Bravo Good Leader

John Russell/Paul Newman Hombre Fast, I mean fast!

Vin/Steve McQueen The Magnificent Seven Ultra Cool

Pike Bishop/William Holden The Wild Bunch A little old but you just got to like the guy.

Col. Douglas Mortimer/Lee Van Cleef FFDM Well armed and full of class.

ok amigos.... not so much THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN per se - more of a 'dream team' in a crazy mish-mash genre movie perhaps?

SNAKE PLISSKEN - (Kurt Russell, ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK) - The Infiltrator

'MAD' MAX ROCKATANSKY - (Mel Gibson, THE ROAD WARRIOR) - The Driver

JOHN RAMBO - (Sylvester Stallone, FIRST BLOOD) - The Survivalist

MANI - (Mark Dacascos, BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF) - The Mystic

INDIANA JONES - (Harrison Ford, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK) - The Professor

LEON - (Jean Reno, THE PROFESSIONAL) - The Specialist

'DUTCH' SCHAEFER - (Arnold Schwarzenegger, PREDATOR) - The Weapons Expert

ASH - (Bruce Campbell, EVIL DEAD II) - The Comedy Relief

ROBOCOP (Peter Weller, ROBOCOP) - The Secret Weapon

.... and of course....

BLONDIE (you know who!) - THE MAIN MAN!!

.... I wouldn't mind seeing a movie with all these guys.  8)
