Name the 1940's Hollywood Classic that had a major similarity with Leone's dollar films and name that rare (for Hollywood) similarity.

"Treasure of the Sierra Madre", perhaps?  (The standoff over gold.)

Groggy give the man a cigar, you got it right for the wrong similarity  Wink

The rare similarity is that it was rare for a Hollywood movie/western not to have a female lead in the 40's.

This was a fact noted by John Osborn on TCM the other night.

Alphonso Bedoya, as the vile bandit leader, has the films most famous line of dialogue- "Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges!"
