Another Horse

Anyone knows why when Blondie kill some guys of Indio’s gang he is riding on a black horse, but when he gets to the telegrapher office he is doing on a sorrel horse? Later he is going out from the town on the black horse again. It was a Leone’s mistake?

I'd prefer to think that because of the hard riding/gallop required, that No Name rode one of the dead guys' horses to the small town to "fake" the robbery, then doubled back, picked up his own horse to gallop to El Paso in time.  Horses cannot run too far at full gallop, regardless of what we've all seen in the films.  Remember how the Pony Express riders (small teenagers, very light packs) had to change horses so frequently?

I'm not sure - haven't you mistaken it for Indio? In that part of the film, scenes with Manco and Indio are quickly changing. Manco leaves the dead bodies on brown horse, I'm sure. (Is it sorrel in English?) Indio has black horse.

Time to solve the horse mystery once and for all. It seems to me there are two options:

a) Cusser's theory is right, the goof is in the first scene. (He takes the horse he uses later and the horse he uses in Santa Cruz isn't there at all.)
b) Cusser's theory isn't right, the goof is in Santa Cruz scene.

The black horse is definitelly Indio's.

Indio on the way to El Paso. Here the scenes change quickly, so that probably causes the confusion with black horse.

Fantastic mate, I have always wondered that myself......because the difference in the first dark brown and sorrel horse is so obvious.

It bothered me too, so when I watched FFDM for last time, I focused on it and then made these captures to make it sure and have a proof.

I guess that's a horse of a different colour.
