I unashamedly guffawed when, rewatching this great short movie after so many years (passed over the other two, in spite of Fonda's e Bardot's presence),  I caught a line told by an aspiring newcomer of SW, dressed as a flashing Mexican Bandido, whose sole credential is: "I was a double  for Tomas Milian".

Yeah the actor's name is (the always menacing) Frederico Boido.

Always plays a nasty baddie who usually gets killed off half-way through a spag.
His best role (and certainly most prominant) is in "And For A Roof A Skyful Of Stars".

Fellini shot an episode of 20 minutes in a western village for this movie not included in the final cut.

I suppose this footage is not available anywhere? Some vault maybe?

Here's the fella in Fellin's film.

Dammit was of course in Italy to star in the first "Catholic western". Not sure where additional footage of the western town could have fitted in, it almost sounds like of the many legends which surround the man

I can add only that the biography in question

http://www.feltrinelli.it/SchedaLibro?id_volume=5000817

was written by an intimate friend of Fellini for 40 years, movie critic for various newspapers (I don't like him as a reviewer but he's authoritative anyway) and occasional screenplayer for A-movies (Olmi, Taviani Bros. etc.). So I'm inclined think that the info, if he didn't get it from Fellini's collaborators, he got it from F. himself. Sure, Fellini was a notorious liar. But about a question like this I doubt he had any interest creating a legend.
