Pretty forgettable movie imo. All I can really say is that it's better than Kundun.
Lol, my bad on reviving a 4 year old thread, but I just watched this and that's pretty much spot-on. I thought the same thing about 30 minutes in.

Yes. Criterion Blu. Undoubtedly a beautiful film.

But Wikipedia research tells me this isn't the OAR? Why would criterion crop it?

I'm proud of that comment so thanks for bringing more attention to it.

Claudia, we need you to appear in LOST COMMAND. It's gonna revolutionize the war genre. What did you think of the script?

I guess I agree with T.H.'s comments. I've seen this film a couple of times, in the theater, on LD, maybe also on DVD. Somebody refresh my memory: this is a film about Chinese people, right? And Peter O'Toole shows up in it for some reason? And then there's some kind of lesbian thing that happens?

That's all I can remember.

Peter O'Toole has the bicycle. He rides it, because he's Lawrence and he can cuz he's just chillin' in China.

There is also some 60's gardening and baby feces.
