They reported he jumped out a window to his death at the hotel they were using.

Apparently OUTIW dialogue writer Mickey Knox saw Mulock fly past his window in full costume. When they got to the street, Leone was wanting to get the costume off Mulock so they wouldn't lose it. Amazing. Kinda reminds me of the scene in Blazing Saddles where the railroad bosses pull the handcart out of the quicksand and leave the two workers to fend for themselves.

I was always wondering which of the gunslingers was Al.  According to the avatars that I see people using, I take it that he was the eldest of the three - the one hassling the canary in the cage?

Another thing - how was it known that he committed suicide?  Did he leave a note or was that the finding of an / the inquiry?  (I apologise for the brevity of the question).

Yes, you match up the right guy.  He was also (in case you couldn't get it) the one-armed gunslinger from GBU that Tuco shoots in the opening scene and later from the bathtub.

I think it's assumed because he was completely alone at the time (according to all accounts I've heard).  I'd have to read into the subject more, but from what I can tell there was no indication of a murder.

Just watched West again overnight, and I will be watching the Dollars trilogy again soon.  I will keep an eye out for Al, as well as other recurring actors that I missed.

Also what I think is interesting is (if Frayling is to be believed) that Mulock's role in GBU was originally to be played by Jack Elam, who of course played one of Mulock's compadres in the opening scene.
