Sandy means in the Hungarian slang "gay". In English too?

If I saw it written down I wouldn't make the association.

If someone said "I'm Sandy" in a high pitched voice - a bit like Kenneth Williams (Julian & Sandy) in Round The Horne - probably.

There again if someone said "I'm Blondie" in a high pitched voice  Lips Sealed
