Its above average but they should have used Nero's voice instead of that annoying twang.Already have this on tape widescreen but at least there's the Alex Cox bit.

I liked it too. More of an American rip off Western but it is enjoyable enough. It sounds like I needn't have bought my spaghetti's on DVD. I should have just have set the PVR to record all the ones of ITV 4...Nah I like the growing collection on the shelf.

With the Grand Duel and Bullet for the General to be shown it appears that there only one title left that we don't know about!
I know what you mean Leone_Admirer,if only ITV had done this 3 years ago(when i started collecting) i'd have saved a lot of dosh!

Well, my guess would be that they will show the Great Silence. But we shall see! It will be a shame once the series ends. Its been great to see a weekly SW on tv, even if they are ones that I have already seen.

The Great Silence would be good because i don't have Alex Cox's introduction on my Region 2 DVD and there is one on the Region 1 DVD.
I agree it will be a shame when the series ends on itv4 but i feel fairly confident they will follow it up with another series because this new channel appears to love wallowing in the classic 60's and 70's series from the same era as the SW's.
Its all the more important that all of us in the UK keep lobbying ITV4 for more!

I must buy myself this on DVD. I feel really glad that I went to the UK premiere of it. (Hmm a premiere of a spaghetti, notch that up on the list of what I have done in life
)

Damn it didn't quite fit this time so i had to set the video up for the second showing-but it was an excellent introduction-there are quite a few Django parellels as pointed out,and yes Marco i really like the music in Texas Addio.
Time to do my emailing bit to ITV4!

What do you think?
Starts off
very
well but its pacing slumps to a crawl past the half hour mark and doesn't pick up until the final shoot out.
Significant for having some of the most well staged fist fights in a genre that has some of the poorest looking brawls ever put to celluloid.
Entertaining, but by no means a genre masterpeice.
I say hold off on the purchase and just get the Anchor Bay
Once upon a time in Italy box set
which comes with 5 spaghetti westerns including this film.
details below...
http://xploitedcinema.com/catalog/once-upon-time-italy-spaghetti-westerns-p-5626.html
The box set is great for newbies. It comes with three classics and two decent entries.
Soundtrack (IMO) is good.
