I'm not sure what OAR is,but i guess like the last half dozen SW's shown in the season it will be in some form of widescreen.I tend to like setting my TV to remove the black lines, above and below!

I'm not sure what OAR is

OAR---> Original Aspect Ratio..............how the film was shot...the "scope"..as in Cinemascope (or Techniscope), for example....the way the director intended the film to be seen.

The problem with my relatively small 28" widescreen tv is that you need a pair of binoculars to appreciate any picture detail so i inevitably have to zoom in at least once so i've still got an inch or so of the black lines without losing too much!

I guess thats ok   Grin   . In some forums you would have been burnt alive for saying you zoomed in the image.

I enjoyed Alex Cox's introduction last night and it was interesting to hear his opinion that this was the greatest of the political SW's and was obviously the source where Corbucci got his "foreign mercenary" idea from .I think personally this is a more credible western with this subject matter than the ones that followed but not neccessarily the most entertaining. My preference for Corbucci's movies is probably due to the more likeable  lead characters of Nero,Milian,Musante,Palance over Volonte,Castell,Kinski which i find harder to warm to.I know Morricone had a hand in BFTG's score but i still prefer his later themes in Corbucci's political weserns.
Just about to give some well earned feedback to ITV4!!

I'm so jealous of you guys w/ ITV4. ..& glad for you as well.
All I have is the crappy dumbass Encore Western Channel.......which by & large is completely unwatchable.
Just this past weekend...it offered "Warlock"...& "Tombstone".....in fullscreen........very annoying to have a movie you'd like to see... presented incorrectly..

I thought i read somewhere that you get the occasional SW season on American TCM whereas on UK TCM all we get is Ringo & His Golden Pistol and Son of a Gunfighter!
