If the fellas in Les Aqua Caliente don't like strangers, How in the hell of fire did Colonel Mortimer get in?

Assuming the 'welcoming party' lined up similar style to when Manco rode in, the Col would have shot their sombreros off their heads knowing he would have been out of their range. They were sure to disperse as a result, psych battle won by Col!

Good point Charlie Siringo but i also agree with Derringdo that they would have been scared of him,and Mortimers obviously smarter than Manco!

Maybe he's not a stranger.  Maybe he's been there before on bounty business.

No I don't agree with this, The Colonel is much more unpredictable, cunning, and crafty, Manco is more bullheaded and straightforward.

The matchlighting sequence in the El Paso Saloon and the safe opening explanation in the Cantina after shooting Wild take Manco by suprise by the look on his face. It's like he's thinking "what a set of balls" the Col. has, lol.

Well they are.... They backed off when he showed his fancy gunwork. I guess Mortimer did the same when he first entered the town. And then helped Manco out when he got there.

Hehe... I answered my own question. :P

trust a man who wears both a belt and suspenders?

Mortimer is more of a craftsman, calculated and deliberate. Manco is "young and reckless."
Hard to say whether one is "scarier" than the other; they are just two contrasting styles that make for an unlikely (though very successful  ;)) partnership. (See Frayling's dvd commentary on the scene where the two of 'em forge their alliance in Mortimer's hotel room)

I reckon the alpha males of Agua Caliente wouldn't have felt threatened by the Colonel.
He looks like and is obviously a man of means and distinction: Dressed in black, expensive clothing and precision weapons.
In short a military man and also an older man (nearly 50 years of age with his system!) and not to be messed with.
He's also of an age and character that to them he probably wouldn't look to be a threat....

Whereas Manco obviously looks like one mean hombre.

Thanks man!
I already put one in this section entitled "Paintings"...I only put it up the other week when the website went live.
I'll probably post future paintings individually as they're finished in the appropriate section of the forum.
Of the 3 on at the moment, 2 are from FAFDM and the third is from "Bullet for the General"....
...Got a Django one on my mind as well!

Not sure about Noodles's final smile. Enlighten me!
