Here it is folks! The showdown of the century. What'll it be? I say "Four of The Apocalypse", but what do I know? I'm a philistine! ;)

Well i must be a philistine myself because i've plumped for Four Of The Apocalypse which  i am sure is largely influenced by one of my favourite albums of the sixties The Notorious Byrd Brothers!!!

YES! The Notorius Byrd Brothers is my favorite Byrds album and one of my all-time favorites as well. I absolutely love the sounds and mood they created on that album. Especially "Wasn't Born To Follow", "Draft Morning" and "Change Is Now". Great stuff!

The Rain Parade, an early 80's american band, made great music that was obviously influenced by TNBB.

I also like the David Crosbys stuff like Dolphins Smile and Tribal Gathering. Its tragic that Crosby was given the boot because Triad is a masterpiece-but still ,we got CSN&Y instead!!

well, it seems like I'm at odds with the rest of the group here, uh? Byrds masterpiece is Younger than Yesterday. Triad is the weakest song penned by Crosby.

Jefferson Airplane obviously disagree Titoli, because they recorded their own version of Triad!
The only reason it was left off was because of McGuinns religious beliefs and in recent years Triad has been generally acknowledged as a classic and rightfully restored to the CD.

I like Younger Than Yesterday quite a bit, but I feel TNBB was a step further. It comes off as a bit of a concept album, which I generally like.

Younger Like Yesterday is great but if we're talking about worst Crosby songs Mind Garden is a real self-indulgent stinker!!Any haters of Keoma ain't heard nothing yet compared to this song!

FOTA sucks, it totally ruins the mood of the film for me,  takes you right out of the film, its the same with "Raindrops" from Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid that music video sequence just ruins it for me. Keoma I can basically accept.

I agree Indio,Keoma (and its successor?-Jonathan of the Bears) is a tons better film than FOTA, the latter falling badly on its arse towards the end but musically FOTA is very slightly better!!

yeah i know what you mean but it sounds like a lot of stuff in the mid 70's where as keoma sounds like keoma. that counts for something.

Yeau perhaps you're right Indio, even if it is hard to like the vocals on Keoma, the overall soundtracks more in keeping for a western!

I liked the music in Four Of The Apocalypse more.

I'd have to watch them again, but I'd probably say Four of the Apocalypse is better over all, and I liked Keoma a lot.
