On Roger's Spaghetti Westerns webpage there is a whole list of spaghettis and you can listen to the soundtrack from those films. For Duck You Sucker they have a different version of the main song that I really like and want to purchase. The only problem is I can't find that particular version of the song on any CDs. I sent the guy who runs the webpage an e-mail asking where I can get it but my e-mail isn't working properly. If anybody knows where I can get that version of A Fistful of Dynamite I'd appreciate it.

Thanks for that Peacemaker i've just had a listen and it is very different but i'm glad they stuck with the other version in the film!!
Can  the tunes from Rogers SW site be downloaded onto a cd easily enough?

I have this version on two different compilations of Morricone movie themes. Check out amazon.com to view the compilations and to sample the version your looking for.
I don't know why Morricone re-recorded this tune (my favorite BTW). Even though quite good, I prefer the original, which I have on the orignal soundtrack and a german compilation.
It is rumored that Ennio played this tune at Sergio's funeral. Must have had some meaning for both, especially when one thinks of how Sergio was reluctant to take on this movie.

I not 100% sure without checking but don't they use the (mandolin?) opening of this track for the restored flashback at the end of DYS at the point where having snogged Coburn the girl now turns to embrace the other Sean.
I know its a matter of opinion but i don't think the use of the statacco madolin playing the main riff in the earlier flashbacks, would have been as effective as the strings in the original ,which i feel convey the human emotions of Coburns memories better.I also think that the additional Sean Sean chants are overused in places and make the arrangement sound a little muddled-but overall i think that this new "find" is a wonderful piece of music and i want to get hold of it!!

I like the version I heard on Roger's website the most. The different version is much more hopeful and optimistic than the version in the film. It's a beautiful piece of music that I simply can't get out of my head. My favorite part of the song is when the oboe comes in playing da-dum-da-daaa  da-dum-da-daaa  da-dum-da-dum-da-dum-da-dum-da-daaaa then tops it off with the trumpet... bum, bum, bum!

I agree Peacemaker,and i think this is precisely why it wasn't used to accompany the bridge explosion,Coburn watching the firing squad in the pouring rain and his melancholic Ireland flashbacks,and Juans face on the end credits-it would have been totally inappropiate.
     I'm gonna have to check to see if that mandolin intro in the restored final flashback is from the same version we are discussing!

Restored final flashback? That was on the UK DVD wasn't it? The British folk are lucky, I'm from across the pond and we still haven't got any Duck You Sucker DVD or the special edition DVDs of FOD and FAFDM. I hope that when they do make a US DVD of DYS it has the full restored version but because the film did so poorly here I doubt they'll take the time or the effort to restore anything.

1. Get yourself a region-free DVD-player (Or crack the one you have )

2. Contact or aquire a friend/relative on this side of the pond and have them help you out with stuff like this.

This is what I've had to do. No customs, trade organization or studio is able to prevent me from enjoying the art of movies, especially Leone movies

Peacemaker,i checked my DYS dvd and its not quite the same version  as the one on Rogers SW website although it is very similar in feel and style,the main difference being that on the Rogers version there are piano chords played on the beat to accompany the mandolin,but in the restored flashback it is a stringed instrument (guitar?)being strummed on the beat initially and then joined by bowed strings and the piece lasts for just under a minute before returning to the dying Coburn about to ignite!

Thanks for all your help guys! I'm going to place an order for the Ennio Morricone Film Music 1966-1987 CD that contains the song I've been searching for in a day or two. When I play the song I'm going to blast the volume on my speakers!!! ( Don't care what the nieghbors think!!! )
