Magnificent Rogues

We have voted favorite villians but now lets come up with a list of  favorite Magnificent Rogues, villians that kind of grow on you that you end up liking, movies and TV.

I'll start:
Eli Wallace as Tuco in GBU of course.
Wallace Beary as Long John Silver in Treasure Island.
Dustin Hoffman as Ratzo Rizzo in Midnight Cowboy.
John Hurt as Caligula in I Claudius.

I'll post more when I think of them.

Newton must be in the newer version, Beary was in the version with Jackie Cooper as Jack Hawkins.

Another Magnificent Rogue was Anthony Quinn as the pirate captain Vaquez or Valdez, in "A High Wind in Jamaica" it also had James Coburn in it, it was a good movie.

one thing about r.newton.
he played LJS first in '50 raoul walsh dirctor.
in  '52 blackbeard.  villian !
in '54 he returns  as LJS .
in '55 again except as t.v. series (adventures of LJS.)
he could be a very likeable villian.
