Guess what, the techique where they shot actors mouths and drew the cartoon over it is.... ta da............ Rotoscoping.

I still can't find the name of the creepy looking cartoon with cheap backgrounds where they had the characters jaws still and faces practically expressionless and with these creepy looking mouths, lol.

Maybe its not Rotoscoped .......

Clutch Cargo that's one of them for sure there were a couple of others too, they were made by Cambria Studios and maybe a few others, and the technique was Synchro-Vox,

What was the story? Huh The only "Apache Wells" IMdb finds is Duel at Apache Wells and that's no Winnetou... so I wondered which film it was...

This one...

The English Winnetou titles somehow make no sense... Maybe this is a revenge for Germans giving titles that make no sense. Grin (The infamous GBU title... Roll Eyes)

I want to ask... Do you REALLY not notice mouth/lip movements when characters are in close-ups?

I do. But unless the discrepancy is really obvious, I don't care.

hi,
being in audio as i am, i've got to suggest this.
these movie were done for cinema audiences.
in any movie house of that vintage there was a time delay from the speakers to the listener.
if you were 30feet from the screen, a delay of ~30millisecends occurs.
so, when these movies were re-dubbed and mixed, it would have been done on a sound-stage with similar characteristics.
that would lead to the sloppy-ness everyone here loves and talks about.
near enough was good enough.
nowadays, it ain't so, as with DVD's the sync is immediate - that is - no delay.
this faults can easily be corrected today.
