We should all list the westerns AW & SW we own or can easily rent out of the local video store, Once we have the lists we can see what titles we have in common then pick a day or a week where we all watch the same film and each add a review to our own encyclopedia thread as long as 2 or the more the better ad their critiques we can give a good idea to potential buyers or renters what to expect.

We may be able to do it with TV showings where we can, though that will be limited to different countries.

We can give some type of ratings for different catagories, score, cinnematography, story, action, characters, etc. It might be enjoyable.

That would be excellent, I was thinking of putting up my list of my rather large AW western DVD collection (most from the states) and it would be nice to see what other people have in their collection for both types.

Good idea CJ.  Mine are pretty much all SW's, but with a handful (mostly Clint ones) of AW's.

Leone Admirer, you mentioned something at the end of your last post that was of interest; a John Ford/ John Wayne boxed set.  I hadn't heard anything about it, so I thought I'd check.

Is there anything official, like a release date or what movies will be included?  Or did I misread what you posted?

I don't believe it has a release date but it has been mentioned on the HTF DVD chat with Warners that the Ford/Wayne box is coming out. It could change to be just about Ford though I'm not sure. Films expected to be contained in it are the new SE's of The Searchers and Stagecoach and other films such as 3 Godfathers and Fort Apach. I'll post more when I have the news.

Any further news would be greatly appreciated, amigo.  Thanks for the heads up.

I actually bought 3 Godfathers around Christmas on DVD.  Target had some sort of promotion with Warner Bros. to release it only in Targets around the country.  Still, I'd be interested in seeing a boxed set with all those great John Wayne/John Ford movies.

I would highly doubt another version of 3 Godfathers would be released, it'll be the same version if its included in the boxset.
