Yes, good news indeed.  Wink
By the way, would you do a favour to us Italian guys?
We already know that the English release will have the movie subtitled in Italian, but nothing official has been said -up to my knowledge- about subtitles in the audio commentary by Schickel; would you be able to check that and revert?
Many thanks in advance...

OUATIW  not yet mentioned (see the link sent by a friend about Paramount annouce... by september too)
Let's cross our fingers

I trully dont't think that the audio commentary would have any subtitle.

Most DVD bonus usually don't have any translation or subtitles.

But why is the 132 minute version - or any cut version for that matter, being released when the fully restored 162-minute cut is available, albeit in Italiano - and the English language version is being produced as we speak? The mind boggles.

BTW, I will have Once Upon A Time In America: Special Edition tomorrow! I have multi-region! Smiley

Here the first review I have found on the Net: http://www.chud.com/chudvd/reviews/once.php3

Truly an awesome piece of Cinema - a genuine masterpiece.

I bought DVD's in these websites:

CD discount.com: many DVD at 1,99 euros (around 2 dollars) Nosferatu, Doctor Caligari,Blue Angel, Germany year zero, Rome opened  city, Landru, a woman is a woman, The music-room., 8 women and a half....Ray,Rosselini,Murnau,Von Sternberg,Godard, Chabrol, Greenaway for one hamburger price.
Add 2 euros for postal charges.french website

Play com:  bargains are interesting specially 3 for 20 pounds (around 28 euros): dollar trilogy for example
Free postal charges and some euro-cents for change charge. English website

In France DVD price is often between 25 and 30 euros, sometime more for the "Collector"  Undecided

And you ?

Some region 1 sites I like are:

deepdiscountdvd.com
bestbuy.com

I've also gotten a good number of DVDs from e-Bay as well.

I have always used www.blackstar.co.uk for region 2 DVD. It has a huge selection and often has really good sales. Three DVD's for £20 with free postage e.t.c. It's video and DVD hunt is excellent as are delivery times.

Im not sure if anyone has come across these little guide books before. I remember getting forced into buying one at a Roman Polanski film festival weekender, about a year ago by some pushy festival organiser.
I was a bit doobious at first. Got it home.... Very informative, analysis of themes in Directors work, reviews of films etc.  All good stuff basicly

But also theres one purely on 'Spagetti Westerns' as a genre. We all know what mass of films were churned out' of the back of 'Fistful of Dollars' success.
this is good intro to it... 31 films are covered in detail.

I wish they'd  rerelease that  'Fistful of Trailers'. There was one on ebay in the UK, back in september. Went for £40. not bad. i completely missed it.  Roll Eyes

The WildWest Productions website has updated the  product information for the first Trailers DVD . it now states 'try ebay' next to the 'out of stock' .
I get the feeling they have been  inundated with emails about enquireing a copy.  Wink
