In my quest to establish just what is the memberships favourite non-Leone top ten sw's i've decided on a list of 21 films in contention that i feel have a realistic chance of top 10 status. This list is based on what i believe most members will have in their collections and from what i've seen do well in polls elsewhere:-
Big Gundown
Death Rides A Horse
Day Of Anger
Great Silence
Face to Face
My Name Is Nobody
Django
Keoma
Navajo Joe
Bullet For The General
Companeros
The Mercenary
Sabata
Sartana
They Call Me Trinity
Django Kill
Return Of Ringo
Run Man Run
Cemetary Without Crosses
Hellbenders
Price of Power
I'm going to pit each sw against the other 20 over a number of weeks and will be running a league table to show the current standings.A win will earn 2 points for each movie and 1 point for a tie!
You will have noticed that i have already begun polls involving Big Gundown,Day of Anger and Death Rides a Horse. Each poll will run for a fortnight only!

I think of MY NAME IS NOBODY as the last of the spaghetti westerns.  It served as a wonderful bridge between the gritty, violent movies that the "spaghettis" once were... and the sillier, more cartoonish movies that they became. It's like Trinity accidentally stepped into an actual Leone movie. The resulting clash of styles (Hill's slapstick antics and Fonda's dead-serious cynicism) made for a western experience like none other.

Big Gundown. I find it a little more entertaining for some reason.

An easy decision as I hate TGS.
