"So you're not a businessman after all.."

« : May 16, 2006, 08:44:44 AM »

The italian news agency ANSA today reports that on the 18th of may 2006 at the "Casa del Cinema" in Rome, a new exhibition will start as part of the Sergio Leone Day Project created by the italian Ministry of Culture.
The exhibition will show a brand new documentary on Sergio Leone, 280 photos never published before, mainly taken on the movie sets and it will also be the first edition of a newly created movie award.
Reportedly the exhibition (named Omaggio a Sergio Leone or Tribute to Sergio Leone) will close on the 3rd of June.
I will try to get some more info and I will post them as soon as available.
Looks very interesting...!

Is the 18th of May a significant date for Leone, or was it chosen for no special reason?

As far as I know, there is no specific reason for this date.

Just been there. I didn't expect much but what was there was even less. A parade of photographs mostly known or not meaningful and only a handful of interesting ones. Some videos with some french tv ads (they didn't apparently find a transcoder from secam so you see them b&w) and scenes of duels from L.'s movies. What I found disturbing was the absence of background Morricone music. It is poor the adjective who sums it up.
This is one of those enterprises which find their only reason in the economics of the organizer who can be funded from friends at the Municipality. And of course who's paying is us taxpayers.
