Great stuff Peace.
If this is his first concert here then this is a historic event that I'm really gone try to go to!

and I encourage others to do the same. I have a feeling he wont be coming back here...

I hope he plays "Giu LA testa".

He does and it's magic but it's Ecstacy of Gold that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. It's usually the final piece in the Leone tribute and the crowd goes wild when it's finished.
If the concert is on I'll be going.

You've been to a Morricone concert? Can you give us a full review?

Frank were'nt you coming from the States ??? ??? ???

I wouldn't be surprised if he was so pissed off he never want's to hear the "M" word ever again. I thought it was odd the way the National Film Theatre event was cancelled, but the way actual concert was cancelled was just crazy.

The London Hammersmith gig has been rescheduled to Dec. 1st - I just got another pair of plain tickets from across the North Sea for that date - for just that one night in London. I pray he makes it this time, I'm getting tired of flying to London... Please Ennio - get your act together...

As I mentioned before - set list will be similar to Arena Concerto DVD from a couple of years back:

I seem to remember other members of this board writing about their attendance to some of the concerts on this tour.

You've been to a Morricone concert? Can you give us a full review?

In Europe we've been a little spoiled. I've managed to get to three of the many concerts and they've all been heart-stopping. The one at the Royal Albert Hall in London was spectacular and I can tell you that this huge hall was packed (literally) to the rafters. This was in 2003 on the Maestro's actual birthday (75) and the crowd sang "Happy Birthday" at the end. I think it was the first time I saw him smile. He appears to be such a shy, serious and intense man that I feel he doesn't actually know how to respond to adulation so gives the impression that he is a bit stand-off-ish. He has not spoken at any of the concerts I was at.
Apart from the Leone Western stuff he included the likes of The Mission, Casualties of War, Queimada, Cinema Paradiso, The Battle of Algiers, Sacco and Vanzetti. The recent cancelled London Concerts now rescheduled for December are to include some I haven't heard live before so that's something to look forward to. Check it out here

I would expect that the NYC concert will be similar to London. Miss it your peril - assuming it goes ahead  :) but please leave some tickets for us on this side of the pond.

The Concert version of GBU main theme is an awful lot different from the one we're used to but works.
Insofar as nobody can ever replace Edda del Orso the Sean,Sean,Sean and OUTIW themes are always tear-jerkers and, as mentioned, Ecstacy of Gold blows you away.

One thing we got in 2003 but we won't get in London in December and probably NYC is Portuguese singer Dulces Pontes who performs songs from Sacco and Vanzetti and the likes of La Luz Prodigiosa and Sostienne Pereira. Believe me when I say this an act all by itself.

Sounds great Sucker, thanks for the info!

To all members who are planning to attend the concert ( I will!   ;D ), we should all meet somewhere before Radio City Hall. I'd love to meet everyone in person.   :)

Sounds like a great idea Peacemaker 8) We need to hear
suggestions regarding the meeting place. Since you live in NY maybe you can get the ball rolling. I haven't been as excited about any concert as this one, and I have been to many in my lifetime.

Radio City is close by Times Square so there's plenty of places to meet.

I think it's February now. Look back on the previous page. I posted an article about the concert and it said the date was Feb. 3.

Same here.
Just think of it: a once in a lifetime event, at least for us in the Americas.
Feb. 3rd 2007 makes sense, being a Saturday. March 2nd is a Friday.
Whichever, I'll be there!!!

To those who have never been to Ennio's concerts, found these clips:

http://www.enniomorricone.it/video.htm

Gives me shivers hearing the crowd chant Ennio! Ennio!
The mission theme with the full oschestra and choir is awesome...Debrah's theme simply heartwrenching...
I have a feeling that just one concert may not be enough...
