Why do some of you call John Mallory "Sean"?

First, I'd say it is "Shawn", and second to me it's quite obvious that Shawn is his friend in Ireland.

Why do some of you call John Mallory "Sean"?

First, I'd say it is "Shawn", and second to me it's quite obvious that Shawn is his friend in Ireland.


If Coburn's character's real name is "Sean"(which I dont think is the case) it should be spelled Sean not "Shawn"(the anglo version)

I could be mistaken as it was translated to "Shawn" in portuguese.

"Sean" is the Gaelic spelling of the name, as in "Sean Connery".
