The Weissers, at least Thomas Weisser who also runs the Asian Cult Cinema magazine are notorious for misinformation. I read in several tomes that this book is riddled with errors. He also put out an asian cult cinema film book that has several errors on nearly every page. In the early days of there asian cult cinema magazine there would be reviews for films they hadn't even seen! They would simply make up a plot synopsis!

sometimes that seems to be the indication with the book I have. I read the most ridiculous things in weisser's book. Sometimes he writes stuff that never even happen in the movie.

and sometimes the filthy prick will give away a "surprise ending". Angry

Don't know about Joe Kidd, but with looking into it i'm sure that in the UK Pale Rider was a box office hit and nowadays its shown on British tv all the time-more than High Plains Drifter in fact!
