As I mentioned in another post somewhere else on the board, in Once Upon A Time in America, James Woods explains his "dream" of robbing the Federal Reserve Bank by drawing a rectangle in the sand. In Duck You Sucker, there is a similar scene, only the "dream" is, I believe, the bank of San Antonio (somebody correct me if I have that wrong).

I believe that Leone was trying to symbolize his characters being "boxed in" by their fate in those last two movies. The earlier pictures all had big circles, perhaps symbolizing the repition and recurrence of events in life. Certainly those are dominant themes in For a Few Dollars More and Good Bad & Ugly....

Yes I forgot to check back on this but I was thinking of the Jill/Noodels shot through the lace, But I don't know what it means.

Also the corridas in FDM and FFOD, I forgot about them.

In GBU TUCO hanged  , standing upon a cross ,very uncomfortable
In OUATIW  Harmonica 'brother , standing upon Harmonica...

May be a perversion ? So Clint shared this vice with Sergio and  when he went back to US, he played "Hang hem high"..

joe i'm pretty fuzzy headed after the pain killers the hospital gave me for my toe. i've been waiting for this question a long time.    hope you can help amigo.  

when tuco starts his run thru sadhill and extacy of gold starts dum-de-de-dum-de-de-duming on the rt. of the screen a wild dog let's out a pityful yelp as it runs away scared by tuco.  

thats all my brain allows. except how do you get a dog to yelp while bolting off in a different direction it was heading for?  was the dog paid union scale?  
or was it like the flies, just an accident leone captured and left in ?  i'll never forget that dog. it seems to be saying welcome to sadhill cemetary, there could be trouble ahead so watch out !

I don't know if it was an accident but its now part of a beautiful sequence.

I count two dogs in GBU. One at the very beginning and the one at the end as you pointed out.

The one at the beginning slinks across the screen of the deserted town before the initial shootout with Tuco.

again, olny 1/2 right. (dog in BG&U).   with the rblondie trivia question  fiasco actually i'm  coming up in the world i olny won that by 1/4. (jack elam).   it could be worse joe. it could be worse.
there's hope for me yet !  

i gotta question joe. w/ out viewing would you not say that leone used the same dang dog in both scenes just to drive us nutz  or what ? it's his style man !! .

Same dog? I think the first one looks emanciated or maybe its part greyhound anyway its also greyhound colored, the second was black.

I correct my answer there are 3 dogs in GBU. Just watched the restored extended version at the Film Forum in Greenwich Village last night and the Angel Eyes sequence at the Confederate fort has a dog in it too! I stand corrected.
