Guarantee, Tuco, guarantee. I see tonight, that you've jumped into the mix. Well, I expected better from you! Didn't think you were that easily swayed. You are always welcome to your opinion. Here's a better motto, tho: Productivity, not Destructivity!

I saw Goodfellas at the weekend.  Been catching up - I must have been working when these gangster movies were first screened.  Saw Godfather I, II, & III a few weeks ago, followed by Scarface followed by Once Upon A Time In America, Once Upon A Time In The West & Goodfellas.
Mean Streets & Bronx Tale on order.

All good films but only one has had a lasting impression on me and only one has prompted me to view on several occasions, get the book on which it is based and research many related items.

There's an abundance of content in the book, The Hoods, too much for one film. It would be quite possible to turn it into a film similar to Goodfellas, with lots of dialogue and very little music. It probably wouldn't however support repeated viewings or make a lasting impression in the same way as OUATIA.

As much as I'm obsessed with Once Upon a Time in America, I'd have to give a slight edge to The Godfather and The Godfather Part II. I do however give a slight edge to OUATIA's musical score, even though I'm obsessed with The Godfather score. I mean sometimes, these films all can go hand and hand, they're all brilliant. If I had to pick however I think I'd lean towards The Godfather Part I and II.

Godfather Pt. II slightly edges out OUATIA for me. There's just something about De Niro as Vito that I can't get enough of.

I thought both Pacino and De Niro were equally brilliant in Godfather II.

I generally prefer movies in which cops screw underage girls on rooftops. Just a personal thing.

Then you need to watch The Shield.

How can you possibly say that the score for The Untouchables is better than OUATIA?!?!?!?   :o

I'm in agreement here with Peacemaker. The Untouchables score, although very good, doesn't hold a candle to OUATIA's score.
