Malcolm McDowell would've made a great John. Plus I love his voice. I don't know why but I think British accents are cool.
What about Donald Sutherland as Mallory?-he made a great terrorist in The Eagle Has Landed with a convincing Irish accent?

well I dont think the IRA would appreciate being called terrorist but anyway...
...Donald Sutherland would be an excellent choice I think. He even has the same Lanky features as Coburn does. Good choice Banjo.

And Donald Sutherland has the accent. I like James Coburn's in the film but Sutherland's is authentic. I still think Malcolm McDowell would've been better than Sutherland, though.

Whoa. Anthony Quinn could pull it off, but Jack Nicholson as John? That can't work.

I mean, enough with casting Mallory and Juan Miranda already, there are other parts to cast!

How about Aldo Sambrell as Dr. Villega, a nod to one of the more recognizable faces in spaghettis? I can't think of anyone for Ruiz, that's a tough one.

Just ideas for a different cast back in 1971.

Cast for a remake by all means. its all good fun anyway.
