I'm trying to load my own avatar, but I can't get anthing to work.

  JonO, you went into your profile and added that link into the avatar part?  Just checking.  If that doesn't work, maybe they're just too big?  I'm not sure, but you could always stick with the offered avatars.  Sorry, amigo.

JonO, I had a difficult time changing my avatar too. But try this. Click on  "Forum Profile Information" under Profile menu. Then choose the radio button of "I have my own pic."  You can use ImageShack to host your pic. But make sure to choose "Resize" button and "Avatar" in the selection. And use "Direct Link." This should do. Good luck! (Use GIF to be safe.)

I guess part of me thinks that it tries to hard to be deep, and doesn't really try to communicate anything.  But it's still a very interesting.
