Don't you like music with your supper?

Watched Tramplers last night which is quite often described as a companion piece to Hellbenders(Albert Band who directed Tramplers hired Corbucci to direct this)  as it also deals with the reconstruction era south with the Confederates attempting to restart the civil war.Joseph Cotten plays a very similar character to Colonel Jonas in Hellbenders-Temple Cordine a biggoted patriarch of a Southern family who are intent on terrorising Yankee townfolk and even hang a newspaper man at the start of the film.
However two of his sons fall out with their father over  his methods, played by Gordon Scott and James Mitchum(Roberts son) -they team up with cattle herder (Franco Nero's first ,but uninspiring ,significant role apparently)and this turns into a bitter inter-family war.
Unfortunately unlike Hellbenders,Tramplers doesn't contain any of the Corbucci-like hallmarks of a sw and is very much in the mould of the American variety, and apart from the shootout finale i found Tramplers quite dull and overlong.
Has anyone else seen this?

I've still not got around to watching it yet, but I am sure I will be disappointed, because I love Hellbenders so much.

Lavagnino's score, though of course not up to one of the Maestro's best scores, is good, I liked it. The movie is very unoriginal and with too much melodrama: the conflicts are too sharpened and unlikely. Nero is not as handsome as he is supposed to be and it is embarassing watching his diminutive figure between Scott's and Mitchum's: on a smaller scale, it really did happen to him what happened to Eastwood: this is his Rawhide before Django. Mitchum is really  Stallone's precursor than his father's successor: same empty facial expression (and did he dubbed himself?). Ilaria Occhini (one of Italy's best stage actress) without being sexy or pretty is extremely attractive, womanish. I think this is one of the few SW entirely spoken in english, though the actors are dubbed.

According to ANICA, this was released in 1965.
