Always wondered why Mortimer didn't finish off Indio with another bullet when Indio started to point his gun at him as he was about to expire( like that word). It seems to me he took an uneccessary risk not shooting again.

Blondie didn't take any chances in GBU..."Bang" straight into the grave, no messing.

No, Blondie did take a risk he waited until he almost pulled the trigger.

I too wondered this, but I think it's an honor thing. Don't shoot a man while he's down kinda thing. Though I know I would do the wrong thing and shoot him dead as a doornail, like the kid in Unforgiven. I hate to think I'd do that, but I don't think I would have th courage to give him chance to shoot me.

If I remember he does cock the pistol again, just in case.

Sorry, Dave, that went over my head, could you explain what that means. I apologize for my lack of understanding.

One can take as many shots as one wants in order to make certain a guy is dead. But a true professional will want to take as few shots as possible as a point of pride.

Ok. Thanks. Economy meaning... conservation or moderation?

"Never waste four bullets on one man"

                                                          -Ryan from DRAH

Notice both of Volonte's characters (Ramon and Indio) get shot only once and then continue to live for a bit but then "expire" (as Iceman put it). Was this intentional? or a complete coincidence?

Coincidence... I see no point in deliberatly making it so.

Well I believe there are a lot of hidden meanings and things in the dollars trilogy. Notice how Clint is practically invincible in his Poncho...where as otherwise he is beaten and tortured without it. In GBU he comes off as clumsy (he allows Tuco to outsmart him twice and misses his mark in one of the hangings) and prone to be captured througout the film but when he dawns his poncho at the end he is in his element.

When Clint wears his poncho it is Leone letting us know that Clint is in  God mode.

What about when he and Mortimer are beaten. I seem to remember him wearing the poncho.
