isn't Tuco dressed as a civilian when he's taken to the train?

No. He's still in his uniform (without the hat and eye patch).

I wonder... where the hell are Wallace and Tuco going? If he wants to take him in the nearest town to let him hanged, why are they traveling, as Tuco said, 10 hours?

Jill, Jill.... you did not read the timeline Tuco is wanted in Texas, so I think Wallace was taking him to a riverboat headed South

South?

New Mexico is west of Texas, so wouldn't they be heading East?

Boy you didn't read the timeline either!

Betterville I surmise is near Ft. Leavenworth and St. Joseph Missouri. The St. Joseph & Hannibal RR was the longest RR west of the Mississippi Wallace & Tuco board the train East to Hannibal catch a steamboat south on the Mississippi.

I don't buy it, since virtually all of Texas was under Confederate control, and we are talking about a Union troop train which also has Confederate POWs. The only part of Texas that was under Union control for most of the war was the east coast, a very small strip of land around Brownsville and Galveston that was well cut-off from other Union-held areas.

If Wallace were travelling on a civilian train I could conceivably buy it, but how could a Union troop train travel through Confederate territory without arousing suspicion?

man you guys still aint reading it and I even provided a map!

Texas has nothing to do with the RR.

Betterville is in Kansas, the longest RR East of The Mississippi was the St. Joseph & Hannibal RR in the State of Missouri at an average 30 mph it would take 10 hous to get to Hannibal.

So I'm surmising that they get on the train to go East to Hannibal to get on a riverboat South to Louisiana or Arkansas from there Wallace takes Tuco to Texas either by ship from New Orleans or across Arkansas to NE Texas.
