I don't know whether the english title is the right one for the currently available release or that should rather be the alternative "Three Amens for Satan". Be like it is this is not a good movie by all means. At IMDB one reviewer defines it "cheap" and that fits: cheap subject, cheap screenplay (some lines and scenes are 3d or 4th hand) , cheap scenery, cheap leading actor, cheap cast. Zacharias and, of course, Kinsky come up as late thoughts on the producers part. I presume in fact that Kinsky had a last minute call to be featured herein, his part being so small and ineffective, as the producers thought"Well, this is gonna be a flop, let's try with Kinsky, maybe we can save something". Sure, you always like him anyway, but he can do little to redeem a cheap role.
The protagonist is one of the lamest I ever saw: Mann is a boy who really hasn't grown up. He's given few lines to speak and he does little acting with his face.
So this is Zacharias' movie which, in spite of lame jokes really infuse some life into his comedic scenes which are in contrast with the other part of the movie, more (melo)dramatic. It was a bad bet to feature Indians in SW, expecially when you had to shoot in Italy and had no chance for some native-looking actor. Thank god there are at least two good looking female to put your eyes on and that's the only thing I want to remember of this work by Claudia Cardinale's long time companion.

Those screen shots make it look watchable.
Thomas Weisser found it "very enjoyable". His description of the plot makes it seem like a great ride however it is hard to trust him on plots sometimes...

I too don't like Leonard Mann to much...but I'm biased against him in the highly praised (but crap) "Forgotten Pistolero".

Yes its featured in Weissers top 10 or 20(whatever) so you'd hope that he'd at least watched this one! Grin
I watched it a couple of months ago and although not exactly great,i enjoyed it,but i'd really need to see it again to comment further Roll Eyes The version i watched is the C'est La Vie DVd under the VENGEANCE TRAIL title which is obtainable quite cheap from UK Amazon-but i understand this version is slightly clipped in the beginning scene for violence.

Yes, it's watchable (well...in parts). But that doesn't make for a top 20, let alone top 10. It has too many flaws: the protagonist is the only one to age, the Indians are Philippinos looking (the indian girl is attractive, though not pretty, but she looks italian all the way: is she?). The whole trick of using Indians for crimes is childish, at least in the crude way it is enacted; And one can't get over the fact that Mann is so obtuse in his way of treating the Indians, not making inquiries about the truth; the way Rassimov has to treat the girls as sex slaves is good for a porn movie (BTW, some particulars make me think that some trick might have been made for this movie as it was for Il venditore di morte). I could go on and on, but one has just to watch the movie and see by himself.
But the worst thing about the movie is the small role given to Kinsky: he could have been given the role of Rassimov and the film would have come off a lot better. It is embarassing and puzzling seeing him being awarded a small ppart like he was some kind of newcomer (like he surely wasn't in 1971). I wonder if he was payed for it...

I can't see the site anymore. "traffic temporarily blocked".

Anyway, I agree with Titoli. It's tough to sit through.
There are some good portions but for the most part it drags a whole lot.
I fell asleep half way through and woke up for the climax so I missed a good half hour. I'll watch it again today and get back to you guys later.

I found the movie quite watchable, but it is definitely not in my top 100 list.
