here is a touchy subject...

anybody gonna go see the remake?

on a lighter note...the original is on a special edition dvd now.
I think we have the sudden interest in the remake to thank for that.

I'm a big fan of the original, must admit to be a little tempted to see the remake, not expecting great things though  Grin

Seen the trailer on TV-and like the recent Omen its a straight remake(absolutely pointless!).If we all boycotted this crap they would stop making 'em Sad

Not really. If we boycott their horror remakes maybe they will stop makin em but what about other remakes from different genres?

Plus...I don't see this as a bad thing anyway because at least we have the the original on a special edition dvd now. I don't think that would have been possible without the interest in the remake. It's all part of the marketing plan.
If you don't like it, just don't watch it I says.

Well in the case of the Wicker Man it doesn't need any promotion, same for Italian Job,Get Carter,Planet Of The Apes and all the rest-Wicker Man is already huge despite all the misfortune it suffered over the years. The massive cult following is growing and growing but now if one does an internet search its just as likely to bring up Nick Cages pile of crap.
Filmakers are more likely to attract bigger cinema audiences by being imaginative and coming up with something different  Roll Eyes
