I just watched this again last night and there's a lot to like. It has beautiful scenery, nice atmosphere, and a great musical score. I personally liked the way the explosions were handled during the climax. Great stuff. Sure, there's not a whole lot of action during the film but I liked it. It kind of reminded me of Sam Peckinpah's "Ride the High Country" with a little spaghetti western flair throughout. A good movie.

saw this movie on TCM. It's pretty shitty; I'd give it a 5.5/10

The opening sequence definitely seems inspired by the opening sequences of OUATITW and GBU.

There's some nice scenery, the movie is pretty to look at, but that is just about all the movie has going for it.

It's rather lighthearted, there's no toughness; okay, sorta comedic tone, okay so you know I don't like that shit.

John Wayne sure made a helluva lotta shitty movies during the last decade-and-a-half of his career.

Disappointing western with terrible dialogues and stodgy characters. Proves that Kennedy was not good with "serious" westerns. 3/10
