Can I see this in the United States yet?  When will it be released, if it hasn't already been already.

There's a lot of demand for it in the US. The DVDs did very well in the UK, so they released a special edition shortly afterwards, which also sold very well.

I think we can expect the film to explode into a huge fanbase when released here. It's pretty much a lost Leone film.

'Explode into a huge fanbase'?  It's a nice thought, but I think you're dreaming.

I don't know, when Once Upon a Time in America finally came in an uncut version, it became a best seller. Now this is a Leone film that hasn't even been seen by many eyes. I think they'll be a lot of people wanting to see it.

OUATITW was also extremely successful when it was first released on DVD, so you never know.  A lot of people like the Dollars trilogy so there's at least a potential that they'd get into "A Fistful of Dynamite".

MGM /UA was just about release the DVD when the merger happened. A guy from MGM/UA was taking a poll on our board to decide which title to use ("Duck You Sucker" or "A Fistful of Dynamite"). The new distributer must know our impatience is becoming more than a fistful of dynamite now.

That guy did that poll for the UK DVD not the US one. He's seen on one of the documentaries in the UK SE DVD.

Are you serious?!?!?

The audio on the R2 SE is absolutely amazing! Some of the best explosion sounds I've ever heard.

possibly, but as for the dialogue at least, have a listen to comparison of old and new dvd audio:

I've been there, but the audio sounds different on the computer. The audio is actually crystal clear and doesn't sound robotic on a TV speaker.

Hi Amaze, MGM's use of the original mono is very rare today (see recent Bond UE re-releases) which is a big shame, studios like Warners and Fox which almost always offer their DVD releases with the original soundtrack and that is always popular (well at the HTF and me any way  Grin ). I actually have to sit down and watch the R2 DVD (which I plan too on Monday) but I've heard from people who have heard an original mono mix that the new 5.1 upmix is a bit of a 'bastardisation' with wrong music cues etc. Again I haven't checked out the DVD yet but Peacemaker has assured me it's not too bad and quite a good upmix.  Smiley
