Can't wait for the GBU 40th, an even greater event.

I didn't know of this anniversary, but I did happen to watch it again on the 24th. What an amazing film.

I'm talking about the 40th anniversary of the premier with the English language track.

Sorry, this is the thread celebrating the 40th anniversary of BBC. GBU's 40th isn't for a while yet. According to Frayling, the U.S. premier was January 1968. Did the English language version play anywhere else (like in the UK) earlier than that?

For the world. You don't think most of the globe watches the film with the Italian language dub, do you?

I just wanted to make sure that you didn't use the term "greater"in a figurative sense, as a synonimous of "more important": which it can't be as, logically, without BBC there wouldn't have been any GBU.
And of course, just talking quantitatively, "greater" doesn't mean "greatest". So when you speak of "the world" you must refer just to that part of the world which speaks english. Which is greater than the italian but smaller than the spanish, mandarin and hindi speaking portions. I presume these comunities watch the movie not in english but in their respective languages, dubbed or subbed under the italian version.

The point is the Italian dub is 14 minutes longer than the international version, and it is the international version that most people know.
