On BBC4 over Xmas they showed a "making of" documentary about the Pogues Fairytale of New York.Apparently the band were so obsessed with watching OUATIA on the tour bus while in the USA that Shane McGowan was inspired to write this classic song and the piano accompaniment intro is heavily borrowed from the main OUATIA theme.
