How is The Fighting Elegy, though? I've heard really great things about it, and it falls into the category of war films, no?

Oh I hate the media.  >:(

I didn't see Starship Troopers. What's it about?

If the guy from Robocop directing Aliens. That's it pretty much.

"Fighting Elegy" is one of Seijun's best work but not to be considered a war movie at all. It's a coming-of-age film with a very abstract ending.

You guys must see Pasqalino Settebellze (Seven Beauties) 1975, one of the best anti war films ever, its on my top ten list of all time films, never mind war films.  O0

"Casualties of War"  was on cable a few days ago.
I am surprised it recieved no mention in our poll.
Ennio's soundtrack to this film was excellent.

Yes "Casualties of War" is a powerful film. I like that film too. At the end of the film, Michael J Fox gets off a Muni car and walks into one of my favorite San Francisco parks, Dolores Park.

I posted my top 15 a long time ago, so i'll just repost these 3 unjustly overlooked war movies that EVERYONE who like war movies MUST SEE immediately!
dogs of war, cross of iron, and hell is for heroes... right now all 3 of those would be in my top 5 or 6, they are unbelievably amazing.

Harmonica: So, you're not a businessman after all.
Frank: Just a man.
Harmonica: An ancient race...
