Just to let you know I've made some updates to my locations website, adding some photos into the FDM sections and created a new Duck You Sucker section.

Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western Locations

New photos were taken in Spain May/June this year, I hope you enjoy it.

ramone,
congrads on site update, esp. DYS section.
mortimer's hotel fitting for his character.
as is monaco's hotel.
don't think i'd put any $$$ in the bank near
tabernas. you never know. as for aque caliente
nobody likes tourists there.

steiger obsessed by the legendary close-ups
showed up several times in his underwear,
no pants, just underwear, to make sure the
cameraman would indeed shoot a close-up.   Shocked
what a guy !

untill the chimes,
kermit

The strangely intriguing thing about mini-hollywood is that when you visit it there is no information about the history of the place itself.

The bank (Bank of El Paso) is now a museum of cinema, it contains lots of cinema projectors dating way back, which are interesting from a technological point of view. There are lots of film posters, many SW's but also some that are blatantly not e.g. Josey Wales. When I was there, a video of Fistful Of Dollars was playing, ironic given that FOD was the only Clint Eastwood SW that didn't use the town.

Adjoining the town is a zoo, so when you get fed up with walking the streets of El Paso you can go and visit the animals, my favourite were a family of rats huddled together in a sand pit.

LOL !! those rats could be ghosts of brega,
groggy and cuchillio ?
there should be a shrine to carlo simi @
mini hollywood ! simmi fished out poncho
for clint out of a pile of trashed costumes
in cinecitta.
simi big on constructing enviorment AROUND
the camera, thus allowing for unimpeded,
immediate and easy shooting. carlo has earned
an immortal position in the italowestern hall of fame.

Did you know that Carlo Simi played the El Paso bank manager in FDM?

The question is, did he have any other cameos?

ramone,
have macheted my way from rotten tomatos to IMDB & beyond. it looks as if this was carlo's olny appearance
on camera.  Undecided  would be most happy to be proved wrong.
he did a good job w/ that bit part.

I think I'll post a message on the SW message board

http://disc.server.com/Indices/160642.html

and see if there are any bright ideas.
