Firecracker, didn't you take some close up photos of Morricone since you were sitting in the fourth row?

I didn't take my camera Sad

I find that this review is right on:

I too discovered Abolisson.

Even picked up a copy of Burn/Queimada this week.

Found this blog of one of the University of Buffalo chorists, who performed at the concert.
I think she was the cute asian I could hardly keep my eyes off of.

Nice insight behind the scene. So Ennio's tempermental. What a surprise! So goes genius!

I had this chat with Sandra the chorist this AM:
s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
who is this?
Le Capitaine dit :
I was at the concert at Radio City
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
in the choir?
Le Capitaine dit :
no the audience in 6th row orchestra
Le Capitaine dit :
I waited 6 months for this concert
Le Capitaine dit :
the thrill of a lifetime...
Le Capitaine dit :
were you the one in center front
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
i was in front, but not center
i was third from the left in the soprano section
Le Capitaine dit :
ok
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
so wait, when you say 'the audience in 6th row orchestra', were you in the audience watching or in the orchestra itself?
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
i just woke up so i'm a bit disoriented
Le Capitaine dit :
in the audience
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
ah ok
Le Capitaine dit :
I was doing a google shaerch for Abolisson/Morricone and found your blog
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
oh so that's how you found me
Le Capitaine dit :
I had never heard Abolisson b4...even though I followed Morricone's carreer for years
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
it's from the movie Queimada
Le Capitaine dit :
I know now...bouught the DVD last tuesday
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
the dvd of the movie?
Le Capitaine dit :
yes
Le Capitaine dit :
complicated story needs all your attention I will have to watch it again when time permits
Le Capitaine dit :
MArlon Brando said it was his best role
Le Capitaine dit :
I travelled from Montreal to NY just for the concert
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
wow
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
well i would have too
Le Capitaine dit :
so your studiying french
Le Capitaine dit :
do you speak it
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
yes
it's my minor
Le Capitaine dit :
moi aussi
Le Capitaine dit :
you know it is widely spoken here in Québec
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
i know
i've been to montreal
it's beautiful
Le Capitaine dit :
moi je ne suis jamais allé à Buffalo
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
il y a rien n'intéressant dans le Buffalo
Le Capitaine dit :
Kent Nagano the Montreal symphonic Orchestra maestro was at ennio's concert also
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
oh?
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
apparently there were celebrities there too, but i couldn't see from the stage because the lights were too bright
Le Capitaine dit :
c'est l'impression que j'avais de Buff, une ville industrielle
Le Capitaine dit :
Leam Neeson, Wilhem Defoe also apperently
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
yes i heard they were there
Le Capitaine dit :
so Ennio is hard to work with, as per your blog
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
it was just difficult to know what he wanted
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
il ne parles pas l'anglais
Le Capitaine dit :
je sais...c'est curieux ça
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
EXACTLY!
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
you'd think for someone of his caliber in this business would know at least a bit of english
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
but no, he only speaks italian and french
Le Capitaine dit :
quand on pense à tous les films américains auquel il a participé
Le Capitaine dit :
so you could speak to him in freanc
Le Capitaine dit :
*french
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
i never spoke to him
he looked too cranky
Le Capitaine dit :
lol
Le Capitaine dit :
were you nervous
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
not really
Le Capitaine dit :
what do you read when you sing wordless vocalise like in the Mission
s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
the Mission piece was in latin
Le Capitaine dit :
did'nt know that...ty
Le Capitaine dit :
ok then in Ecstacy of gold
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
that was wordless
just 'ah's all the way
Le Capitaine dit :
do you read notes and are able to sing to it
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
yes
i'm in the university at buffalo choir, and to get in it's a requirement to be able to sight-sing music
Le Capitaine dit :
wow...I find that amazing
s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
not really
it comes with practice, i think
Le Capitaine dit :
even so...I am impressed
Le Capitaine dit :
I found the concert a little short...starting at 8h10 and ending at 9h40 then the 3 encores
Le Capitaine dit :
I bought the Munich 2004 concert on DVD, view it at least 10 times b4 the NYC concert. The Arena concerto 2002, is coming out on DVD later this month
Le Capitaine dit :
the munich concert was a solid 2 hours
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
this radio city concert will be on DVD and audio CD too
Le Capitaine dit :
i heard that, but i did'nt see any cameras on stage
Le Capitaine dit :
at the Munich concert you have close ups of the performers
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
there were cameras off to the side
Le Capitaine dit :
ok good
Le Capitaine dit :
I thank you for this unique insight to a once in a lifetime event (at least for me)
 s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
  you're welcome
Le Capitaine dit :
if i have other questions may I chat again with you, s'il vous plait...
s.a.n.d.r.a  dit :
bien sûr
Le Capitaine dit :
merci, très aimable
