Plot:Nikita is a young lady who with two Nihilist friends commit robbery and murder while on drugs. After her trial she is not executed or taken to prison, but to a school for special operatives. She is told that Nikita no longer exists and she will be trained to pay back society for what she has done, as a spy/assassin.

Thoughts:coming from Luc Besson its a great movie but its not up to Leon standards.

i like it quite a bit.. i'm of the opinion that none of the Luc Besson films are up to par with Leon, which is one of my top 10 movies

5th element was utter garbage, its a shame that this seems to be the one that Luc Besson's name is always associated with

I like Leon a great bit, although there is that very cheesy moment that almost ruins the entire climax...

the scene where he screams up at the heavens and the camera is right in his face!

Whose idea was that?

can him!

I have Nikita to watch but haven't gotten around to it.

hahahah.. i always have a good chuckle at that scene.. i think you're the only one who i've come across who has also noticed that.. i usually point it out and who ever i'm watching it with just gets a blank look on their face

i thought nikita was great. some aspects are a bit dated at this point, but i thought the directing was great and overall a solid movie.

The member Aguirre is not a big fan of that shot either.

Yes lol, I remember when we spoke about that on the ride home from the theater. That was really a killjoy and ruined the feel of the last minutes. Besides that the movie is great. I am still torn at which movie I like better. Nikita is more engaging, and appeals to me a lot more. Leon may be slightly better, but Nikita is an excellent prelude.

You guys are right, it's definitly not up there with the classic Leon, but it's a good movie.
