My latest purchase. Script by Dalton Trumbo under a pseudonym. Best duel in the street finale ever.
this is one of my all time favorites just for the weirdness of the showdown at the end of the film.  Afro tell us what you think of it. Lips Sealed

Terror in a Texas Town was a pretty good AW.

The relationship between the bad guy and his boss reminded me of the Frank/Morton relationship.

you got that right. good observation ! the bad dude had 2 pistols and all that black leather that made so much noise w/ each little move. he could just stand there breathing and you could hear all that  leather crunching around. the guy really looked like he was in physical pain from his costume.
but the showdown.  Cheesy WOW !

good isn't the word i'm searching for. of all westerns this TIATT has THE most bizarre duel ever on film. it took me a while to realize these film makers are bloody serious..... Cheesy from here on out i'm dummying up. i don't dare give away the ending. and nobody really likes the film. it drags and drags. the bad guy won't budge or the good guy. but for that split second you have trouble beleiving who wrote this out ?  Lips Sealed lol !!
i'm going to have to buy this just to show it my friends. is it on DVD ?

What's your thoughts on El Dorado? I found it to be a pointless rehash of Rio Bravo without the chemistry and atmosphere.

Claudia, we need you to appear in LOST COMMAND. It's gonna revolutionize the war genre. What did you think of the script?

Don't watch Rio Lobo then, buddy. Wink  Rio Bravo is one of my favorite JW movies so I'm biased, but I do enjoy El Dorado.  Mitchum is pretty good, and I like James Caan over Ricky Nelson.  Not a great movie, but I've always enjoyed it for what it is, entertaining, Smiley to me at least.

As much as I love Rio Bravo, I freely admit that Ricky Nelson can't act. Hawks did a fine job in hiding him for much of the film though. Caan came off a little stiff and inexperienced in El Dorado but he was obviously much better than Nelson.

Overall, I just felt there were too many plotlines that never materialized, and ED never had any pace or momentum. I didn't hate it or anything, I was just greatly disappointed by it.

I haven't seen Rio Lobo but I will eventually get around to it. I will leave my expectations at the door for that one.
