R2 MGM has that beating scene cut.

The disc from Germany was finally supposed to have it complete, but it's only partially there, I think maybe 7 seconds or so is still missing. Plus there's couple of other cuts (on all discs I think) which last only few seconds.

Also... FOD will look like this: http://web12.dvd2web.de/fistful/se2.jpg
instead of this: http://web12.dvd2web.de/fistful/ital2.jpg

Aha saved me some time, thanks Sundance. By the way, what are the other cuts in FFDM on the German Edition?

Well if I remember correctly, a shot of Clint approaching the saloon "doors" is missing and Indio's laughter when he releases that one soldier is shortened. I'm not exactly sure if these seconds are supposed to be in the film, but I guess so... at least they were on the German tv broadcast (can't remember about Finnish tv...).

It'll hurt if you are cut.

Thank you for the comparison, Sundance. Seems like I'm disappointed again with the new release of FFDM. Again and again, I can get no satisfaction. Can't anybody release a perfect FFDM just once?

No mono, thought so. In fact if you have already got the R2's the only reason to get these would be non-PAL speedup on the soundtrack and the uncut DYS. They'll be using the transfers from the R2 so most likely for FOD and FFDM the German Editions will still be the better looking.
Not only no mono, no Italian dubs (but French and Spanish. Go figure!) This is very disappointing. Yes, I'm sticking with the German discs. Here's some info on those: http://www.tle-films.com/$1.htm

NOTE: Sorry, for some reason you have to manually add the "$1.htm" to the URL to get the link to work.

Not so worried about an unnoticible handful of seconds but i'm tempted to buy the R1 DYS because compared to my cd soundtrack Morricones music on the R2 DYS sounds rushed! >:(

It'll be the same soundtrack Banjo so the music will have the same harshness. The only difference will be due to the removal of PAL Speedup.

Yeah i appreciate that.I've never understood why this PAL system has to run the movies quicker than they're meant to. >:(  Or does the NTSC run too slow? ::)

Film is shot at either 24 or 23.97 (that is, 24 / 1.001) frames per second.

To convert it to NTSC without blending frames into each other, one frame is used to create 3 video fields, and the next frame to create 2 fields, etc. (3:2 pulldown), resulting in the video rate of 60 resp. 59.94 Hz

For PAL at 50 Hz, there is no even rate conversion, so they use each film frame to create 2 video fields (2:2 pulldown). This consumes 25 film frames per second, therefore the 24 to 25 fps speedup. This also raises the pitch of the audio.

There are some DVD players that perform a reverse 2:2 pulldown and slowdown, and then output either NTSC with 3:2 pulldown, or HDTV modes like 1080p24 fps, which can look really smooth on a display at 72 Hz (24 * 3).
